Flora Anna Bumgardner Pennington, age 92, of Morehead, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the home of her daughter.

Born October 27, 1931, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Bumgardner and Menervia Epperhart Bumgardner.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Medford Pennington; two sons, Johnathan Medford Pennington and Gerald David Pennington; one granddaughter, Rachel Pennington; one sister, Nellie Mae Luman; two brothers, Elwood Bumgardner and Charles Ivan Bumgardner; and two infant brothers.

Flora is survived by one son and six daughters, Derinda Jent of Morehead, Fairlene Evans and husband Jeffrey of Hillsboro, Stephan Jay Pennington and wife Valerie of Morehead, Shawona Harris and husband Frank of Morehead, Janice Anderson and husband Frank of Gypsum, Colorado, Sheena Nickell and Marce Fannin of Morehead, and Letisha Wallace and husband Jeffrey of Clearfield; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Flora was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, quilting, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed the outdoors and at one point in time greatly enjoyed wagon riding.  Flora will be missed and remembered forever.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr., and Pastor Elijah Sexton officiating.  The service will be live streamed at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
