Obituary

Evon Brown, age 74, of Stamper Ridge, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born March 19, 1950, in Elliott County, and was a daughter of the late Ollie Brown and Loretta Faye Jenkins Brown Fannin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Darrin Winkleman; three sisters, Betty DeHart, Sandra K. Becknell, and June Stamper; one brother, Charles Brown; and the father of her children, Donald Winkleman.

Evon is survived by two daughters, Lisa Winkleman Price (Mike) of Wabash, Indiana, and Lana Winkleman Ledbetter (Matt) of Tullahoma, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Danyelle Ledbetter Turner (Josh) of Virginia; and three great grandchildren, Maty, Jordan, and Heath Turner.

Other survivors include two brothers, Billy Brown (Debbie) of Wabash, Indiana, and Ronnie Brown of Morehead; two sisters, Ida Stamper of Elliott County and Sue Keeton (Jeff Kiser) of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Evon was a homemaker and retired as a custodian from Morehead State University.    She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Matt Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
