Everett Mack Sparks, Sr., age 74, of Donna Street, Clearfield, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born February 5, 1941, in Olive Hill, he was a son of the late Sam and Christine Brinegar Sparks. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie and Gracie Sparks and Donna Gale Reynolds, and one brother, Leroy 'PeeWee' Sparks. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Parsons Sparks, whom he wed October 4, 1968; one daughter, Ginger Click of Clearfield; two sons, Everett Mack Sparks, Jr. and Becky Pelfrey of Clearfield and Samuel Sparks and Laura of Pikeville; three grandsons, Justin Click, Jesse Sparks, and Jimmy Mack Sparks; one granddaughter, Alexis Sparks; two step grandsons, Brandon Pelfrey and William Pelfrey; and two step granddaughters, Alisha Pelfrey and McKenzie Tackett. Also surviving are three sisters, Betty Jo Enix of Vanceburg, Susie Baer of Morehead, and Joy Henderson of Olive Hill; one brother, Rossie Sparks of Olive Hill; and extended family and friends. Everett suffered an injury with a crossbow at age 19 and has dealt with the difficulties of blindness since then. He enjoyed spending time talking on his CB radio with the call name 'Mustard Seed' and met his wife Carolyn while talking on the radio. He was of the Pentecostal Faith and had attended Limestone Apostolic Church in Olive Hill and Morehead First Apostolic Church on U.S. 60 West. At Everett's request, no services will be held.
