Evelyn Hicks Kiser, age 89, of McBrayer Estates, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the Life Care Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born February 28, 1921, in Clearfield, Kentucky, and was the daughter of late George and Laura Myrtie Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Stanley Kiser; one infant daughter; three brothers, Ollie, Russell, and Bernard Hicks; and five sisters, Elizabeth Owens, Julie Carter, Roxie Wallace, Rosella Burns, and Lorene Igo. Her husband, Glenmore Kiser, passed away June 26, 1998. Mrs. Kiser is survived by one son, Larry Glendon Kiser; three grandchildren, Lisa Collins, Travis Kiser, and Kristal Kiser; and three great grandchildren, Alisha Kiser, Amanda Collins, and Jessica Collins, all of Morehead, Kentucky. Mrs. Kiser was a homemaker and a former employee of the Holiday Inn. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and reading her Bible. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Arthur Whiteman officiating. Burial will follow in Purvis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derrick Collins, Lisa Collins, Buford Owens, Earl Hicks, David Hicks, Dwight Houck, and Butch Wallace.
