Eula Thornsberry DeHart, age 92, of Hillsboro, Kentucky, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the home of her son in Hillsboro.
Born November 20, 1933, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Sarah Click Thornsberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and six brothers.
Eula’s beloved husband of 29 years, Wayvel Lawrence DeHart, passed away on June 21, 1988. She is survived by her loving family: her son, Rickie Brown and wife Karen and her daughter, Genevie “Jenny” Payne, all of Hillsboro; her devoted grandchildren, Angie and Scott Howard, Jason and Sonya Brown, Kayce and Zach Fraley and Vince Crawford and fiancée Wendy Martin; her precious great-grandchildren, Bryce Keeton, Kyndra Howard, Ethan Brown, Elissa Brown, Shiloh Fugett, Adeline Fraley, Gage Crawford, and Bodie Crawford, as well as extended family and dear friends.
A hardworking, loyal and talented employee, Eula retired from Cowden Manufacturing after many years of service as a relief operator, a position that required the knowledge and skill to operate every machine in the sewing plant. Never one to slow down, following retirement Eula worked as a greeter at Walmart, where she enjoyed visiting with customers and sharing her friendly personality. At home, she loved sewing and was especially known for the beautiful quilts she made. She also took pride in tending her flower and vegetable gardens, nurturing them with the same care and patience she devoted to her family and friends.
Eula’s family was the center of her life. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her son, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and family gatherings were among her greatest joys. Whether preparing a meal, sharing stories, or simply enjoying one another's company, she created a home filled with love and cherished memories. She was a member of the East End Church of God, where her faith was an important part of her life.
Eula’s strong work ethic, kind spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and quiet acts of kindness will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. Funeral services will proceed at 1 p.m. with Pastor Greg Grimes and Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.
Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
