Obituary

Eula Hamm Crisp, age 78, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

Born March 16, 1943, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Levi Weldon Hamm and Virginia McKenzie Hamm.  In addition to her parents, Eula was preceded in death by her first husband, Estill Hamilton; a grandson, David Charles Ferrell; three sisters, Geneva Hamm, Dorothy Vanlandingham, and Lynda Lou Bates; and three brothers, Charlie, Arnold, and Howard Hamm.

Eula is survived by her devoted husband of 29 years, Earl Kendall Crisp; two daughters, Vicky Hamilton of Morehead and Cindy Howard (Steve) of Berea; two stepchildren, Angie Applegate (Greg) of Morehead and Chris Crisp of Urbana, Ohio; 12 grandchildren:  Quentin Hamilton, Kelley Hamilton (Bobby), Chris Howard (Kaitlyn) Stefanie Kinon (Jeff), Benjamin Howard, Stephanie Brock, Brandon Ferrell (Sancha), D. J. Ferrell, Darrien Stamper, Devon Ison, Kaylib Shroyer, and Sierra Dodds; and numerous great grandchildren.

Other survivors include two sisters, Betty Day (Phil) and Beulah Holbrook, of Morehead; two brothers, Oscar Hamm, Jr. (Sheila) of Nicholasville and David Hamm (Jennifer) of Owingsville; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Eula was self-employed with Crisp Seal Coating and had been a SuperAmerica employee for 20 years.  She enjoyed her work and looked forward to the next challenge.

Eula was known for being a loving person to everyone, helping anyone in need, and welcoming family and friends into her home for food and good fellowship.  Her door was always open.  She enjoyed being busy, reading, gardening, traveling, and birdwatching.  Most of all, Eula loved her family—and they loved her.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sadly missed and remembered with love always.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr., and Pastor Elijah Sexton officiating.  The service will be live streamed on Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow the service in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Pallbearers: Phil Day, Tim Jordan, Wayne Rayburn, Christopher Howard, Benjamin Howard, Steve Howard, and D. J. Ferrell.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Ernie Holbrook and Jeff Kinon.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

COVID-19 mandates will be observed.
