Obituary

Ethel Mae Fannin Owsley, age 88, of Pennington Flat Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center. Born February 7, 1921, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Claude and Florene Duvall Fannin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Claude Fannin, Jr.; two sisters, Kathleen Booth and Faye Lewis; and a half-brother, Henry Fannin. She is survived by a half-brother, Franklin Fauneil (Neal) Fannin of Lexington, Kentucky, and six half-sisters, Alice Eiden of Leitchfield, Kentucky, Nell Damaree of Lexington, Kentucky, Ida Roberts of Guernsey, Ohio, Mary Thornburg of Mt. Summit, Indiana, Kay Lewis of Morehead, Kentucky, and Amanda Fannin of Santa Cruz, California. Other survivors include two special nephews, Bill Fannin and Michael Fannin, both of Morehead, Kentucky; one niece, Joan Sergent of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Owsley was a seamstress and an avid doll collector. She was a member of the Morehead United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Nettleton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Saturday, May 30, 2009, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Sunday, May 31, 2009, at 2 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
