Ethel Davis Henderson, age 63, of Old State Road, Owingsville, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehab Center in Owingsville. Born May 25, 1954, in Tookland, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Clyde Davis and Avie Shortridge Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Edward Henderson and Jacob Eugene Henderson, and one sister, Patricia Davis Skaggs. Her husband, Paul Edward Henderson, also preceded her in death on February 4, 2017. Ethel is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Tara) Henderson and Tad (Crystal) Henderson, all of Owingsville; two daughters, Rebecca (Jerry) Conn of Sharpsburg and Amanda (Corey) Cox of Hillsboro;16 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Other survivors include six brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Clyde Davis, Jr., of Jeffersonville, David James Davis of Mt. Sterling, Ernest Dean Davis of Means, Gabriel Steven Davis of Jeffersonville, William Clarence Davis of Frenchburg, Daniel Lee Davis of Salt Lick; two sisters, Marsha Davis Williams of Jeffersonville and Subbie Davis Wilder Bellamy of Owingsville; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Ethel was a homemaker and attended New Cut Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, playing games, hosting tea parties, and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017, at New Cut Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Eugene Haney and Nephew Joshua Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson Family Cemetery on Henderson Road, Jeffersonville. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
