Ernest Eugene Dewitt, age 47, of Crestwood, Kentucky, formerly of Mt.Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born December 24, 1965, in Rowan County, Kentucky, Ernest is the son of Annie Myrtle Burton Dewitt of Crestwood, Kentucky, and the late Leonard Ottis Dewitt. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Thomas Dewitt and one sister, Kathleen Dewitt. In addition to his mother, Ernest is survived by two brothers, Lawrence Dewitt and wife Connie of Morehead, Kentucky, and Leonard Dewitt of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; two sisters, Linda Lou Dewitt of Crestwood, Kentucky, and Billie Jo Dewitt of Salt Lick, Kentucky. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews, Jason, Nikki, Katie, Jonathan, Sara, Michael, and Michelle Dewitt. Ernest was a former industrial welder and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in Adams-Plank Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jason Dewitt, Lawrence Dewitt, Junior Stevens, Joshua Stevens, Charlie McIntosh, Ken Gillie, and Larry Binion.
