Obituary

Emma Lou Jackson Royse, age 76, of Seas Branch Road, Morehead, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born February 16, 1938, in Paducah, a daughter of the late Rudy and Leona Collins Jackson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Chester Jackson, and Mother Manning of the Baptist Children's Home in Paducah, who cared for her following the death of Leona when Lou was four years old. Lou is survived by her husband of 52 years, Donald Royse; three daughters, Lisa Royse Fryman, Julie Royse Lowe and husband Floyd, and Kimberley Royse Perkins and husband Phillip, all of Morehead, and four grandchildren: Tara Royse, Evan Lowe, Errick Lowe, and Makaylyn Perkins, all of Morehead. She is also survived by one brother, Rudy Jackson and his wife Kitty of Peoria, Illinois; six nephews, Mark Jackson and Scott Jackson of Peoria, Illinois, Donald Kidd, Tim Kidd, Chris Kidd, and Jackie Royse of Morehead; and three nieces, Nan Ramsey, Rhonda Royse, and Kayla Royse of Morehead. A teacher, Mrs. Royse retired from the Carter County School system in 1993 after teaching in California, Paducah, and Rowan County. Lou was an avid reader and enjoyed her volunteer work assisting with the G.E.D. program and serving as a substitute teacher. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Trent Cemetery on Rainbow Road, Morehead. Pallbearers: Floyd Lowe, Phillip Perkins, Keith Fryman, Evan Lowe, Errick Lowe and Harvey Pennington.
