Obituary

Emma Jane Johnson Hutchinson, age 96, of Knapp Avenue, Morehead, Kentucky, died peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at home after a long illness. Born March 22, 1911, in Morehead, she was the daughter of the late Robert B. Johnson and Amanda Caudill Johnson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Hutchinson, on July 9, 1982. Also preceding her in death were a sister Nellie Keeton and husband Clyde; half-sister Myrtle Foster and half-brother Boone Hollan, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Pauline Redwine Johnson. Survivors include a brother Clester Ovel Johnson of Morehead; several nieces and nephews including Dr. James O. Johnson of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and the Rev. Luther Keeton of Louisville, Kentucky; and sister-in-law Jean Hollan of Morehead. Mrs. Hutchinson is also survived by her dedicated caregivers Bobbie Newsome, Pauline Johnson, and Naoma Maines. Emma, who spent her entire life in Morehead, was a graduate of Morehead High School. She was a former member of the Morehead Day Homemakers, Order of the Eastern Star, and Gideons Auxiliary. In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, needlework and quilting. A longstanding member of the Church of God, she was active in many church functions, including Women of the Church of God, until declining health in recent years. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Allan Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Steve Lewis, Buford Owens, Art Litton, Bobby Trent, John Paul Thomas, Roy Anderson, Dr. James O. Johnson, the Rev. Luther Keeton, and Randall Keeton. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Tuesday, January 15, 2008, after 10 a.m. Funeral: Tuesdy, January 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
