Emma Dean Carpenter Cecil, age 86, of Hwy 705, West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012, at her residence. She was born September 15, 1925, in Woodsbend, Kentucky, to the late D. O. Carpenter and Ollie Francis May Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin daughters, Linda and Brenda Cecil, and two brothers, D. O. Carpenter, Jr. and Clifton C. Carpenter. Emma Dean-s husband of 70 years, Wilmer E. Cecil, passed away March 4, 2012, just a day after her passing. She is survived by two sons, Gregory Cecil and wife Sandra of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Brent Cecil and wife Kim of Somerset, Kentucky; two brothers, Ben Carpenter and wife Marilyn of Winter Haven, Florida, and Jim Carpenter and wife Barbara of Georgia; one sister, Elizabeth Anderson of West Liberty, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Mahala Marie Cecil, Noah Dean Cecil, Justin Harris, Donnie Shrout and wife Jessie, and Robbie Shrout and wife Laura; and three great grandchildren, Rileigh Jo Shrout, Kinleigh Elizabeth Shrout, and Landon Carroll Shrout. Emma Dean was a 1944 graduate of Morgan County High School and attended Morehead State University. She retired with more than 40 years of service as secretary for the Circuit Judge-s office serving Morgan, Carter, and Elliott counties. She was a member of the West Liberty Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bud Angus and the Rev. Anthony Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in May Cemetery in Morgan County. Pallbearers: Jerry Fugate, Josh Salmon, Judge Sam Long, George Bellamy, Steve O-Connor, Ricky May, Greg Lewis, Justin Harris, Jerry Cecil, and Tom Pieratt. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead, Kentucky. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Owingsville Christian Church, P.O.
