Emery Ward Reed, age 79, of Oakley Pebble Road, Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011, at his residence. Born August 15, 1931, in Bath County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Rollie and Mattie Nealis Reed. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Audrey Eulene Rogers Reed, whom he wed June 4, 1954; one son, Randy Reed and his wife Vickie of Owingsville; one daughter, Lynn Reed of Owingsville; two grandchildren, Travis Reed and his wife Jessica, and C. J. Reed and his fianc-e Jessica Moore; three great grandchildren, Taylor Coe Reed, Jacob Reed, and Josie Reed. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Denton of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Nancy Bussell of Fleming County, Kentucky. Emery served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a farmer, an employee of Hobart-s for 23 years and Summit Polymers for 11 years, and a longtime member of East Fork Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at East Fork Church of God with the Rev. Billy Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel. Pallbearers: Travis Reed, C. J. Reed, Gary Buckler, Darren Campbell, J. R. Gray, and Bob Calvert. Honorary pallbearers: Kenny Gray, Leo Gray, Rick Buckler, and Harold Purvis. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at East Fork Church of God, 4428 East Fork Road, Owingsville, Kentucky. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
