Obituary

Emerson Bill Black, age 73, of Jones Ridge, Clearfield, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born November 13, 1942, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Louann Link Black. Besides his parents, he was preceded in the by four brothers, Christopher, Jeff, Ranze, and Wilson Gene Black. He is survived by three sons, Bill Junior Black of Powell County, Wesley Lee Black of Lexington, and Jackie Matthew Alsept of Paris; one daughter, Linda Marie King of Salt Lick; two grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Lisa Pearl Keeton of Morehead. Also surviving are four brothers, Jerry Black and Bob Black, both of Bath County, Mike Black of Fleming County, and C. O. Black of Indiana; seven sisters, Bernice Chambers and Tina Curtis , both of Morehead, Brenda Hunt, Alma Jean Black, Clara Spurlock, and Delphia Holbrook, all of Fleming County, and Lela Cross of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill had been an employee in sawmills, a farmer, and a logger. He attended Slab Camp Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Black Cemetery on Ramey Ridge Road. Pallbearers will be Mike Black, Eric Beamon, Timothy Beamon, Tyler Beamon, Tim Bryant, and Michael Stalker. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
