Elsie Ratliff Daulton, age 90, of Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. Born September 13, 1921, in Fleming County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late W. A. and Grace Scaggs Ratliff. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Daulton; one son, Clifton Ray Daulton; two brothers, Clifton and Arvel Ratliff; and one half sister, Pearl Scaggs. She is survived by two daughters, Willa Jane McLain of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and Marietta Daulton and her husband Fred Balding of Massillon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Martha Ann and Michael McLain and Clifton Ray, Jr. and Charles Daulton; and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Daulton was a homemaker who was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and freezing and was also an excellent seamstress and quilter. She was a former member of the Hillsboro Homemakers. Elsie had been a member of the Ringo Mills Christian Church since 1937. Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Jim Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
