Elsa Anna Heid, age 93, of Cranston Road, Morehead, went peacefully to be with the Lord at her residence on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was born February 26, 1922, in Dresden, Germany, and came to the United States in 1987and never looked back. Anna loved Kentucky. Anna is survived by two daughters, Anita White and Ilona Heid, both of Morehead; two grandsons, Larry Hillebrand of Louisville and Uwe Gund of Germany; two great grandchildren, Jo Jo Shaffner of Morehead and Adrienne Brock of Salt Lick; three great-great grandchildren, Anna, Zeke, and Emmie; special friends, Tori Smedley and her children Taylor, A J, and Hudson, all of Walton, Kentucky, and Ursula Lutz of Germany; and other extended family and friends in Germany. Anna was a very loving mother and grandma and everyone who came to know her loved her. She enjoyed working in her garden and helping others when she could. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Gund; her second husband, Erwin Heid; two sons, Karl Heinz Gund and Gerhard Gund; one daughter, Charlotte Heid; and three grandchildren, Ralf Hillebrand, Joey Hillebrand, and Michelle Hillebrand. The family extends special thanks to Hospice and Debbie Blankenship, who provided loving care to Anna. At Anna's request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
