Elmer Rankin Daugherty, age 73, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born February 9, 1949, in Pike County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Earl and Magdalene Jones Daugherty.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Naylor Daugherty, on March 6, 2013, and one brother, Jimmy Roger Daugherty.

Elmer is survived by two sons, Daniel Daugherty and wife Kammy of Lexington, Kentucky, and Andrew Daugherty of Morehead, Kentucky.

Other survivors include two sisters, Wilma Sue Whitt and husband Eddie of Minnesota and Mary Ann Lester of Morehead, Kentucky, and one granddaughter, Andrea Daugherty of Morehead.

Elmer was a retired coal miner in Pike County where he served as superintendent at the Chisholm mine.

At Elmer's request, a private visitation and funeral service will be held at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
