Obituary

Ella Mae Carter Stamper, age 68, of Hill-N-Dale, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Morehead. Born May 8, 1943, in Pennsylvania to the late Harlan and Elizabeth Ferguson Carter, she moved with her family when she was five years old to West Liberty, Kentucky, where she grew up. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Larry -Tardy- Carter, and one sister, Eva Carter. Ella is survived by her husband, Jeff Stamper, Sr.; one son, Jeff Stamper, Jr., and his wife Regina; and two daughters, Anita Stamper and Mary Bates of Morehead, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Danielle Bordelon, Benton Ward, Joel Ward, and Sophia Henderson; and two great grandchildren, Danica Henderson and Danny Henderson III. Also surviving are two sisters, Carolyn McClain of Morehead, Kentucky, and Shirley Moore of Elkton, Maryland; five brothers, Harlan Carter, Wayne Carter and Tom Carter, all of Morehead, Kentucky, Paul Carter of Haldeman, Kentucky, and Carl Carter of Bellville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Ella was a former employee of Cowden-s Manufacturing Company. She was a wonderful homemaker and also enjoyed cooking, canning, and gardening. Most of all, Ella loved the Lord. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with her son, Minister Jeff Stamper, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Benton Ward, Joel Ward, Nicholas Bordelon, Tom Carter, Danny McClain, and Jason McClain. Her beloved nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Sunday, April 8, 2012, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Monday, April 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
