Elige Randolph

Elige Randolph, age 73, of Randolph Ridge Road, Olive Hill, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after an extended illness.

Born September 9, 1952, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was a son of the late Cleopus Randolph and Martha Moore Randolph. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, June Randolph and Terry Randolph, and a son-in-law, Stacey Jones.

Elige is survived by his loving wife, Ruie Cantrell Randolph; one son, Elige Randolph, Jr. of Olive Hill; two daughters, Donna Jones of Berea and Mellisse Gutfreund of Morehead; five grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Jessi), Nikki Hurd (Chad), Shelbie Mays, Shonda Hackney (Riven), and Harley Randolph; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include three brothers, Eugene Randolph (Janet) and Bill Randolph (Ruth), both of Olive Hill, and Roger Randolph (Vicki) of Elliott County; one sister, Shary Crum (Harold) of Olive Hill; many nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.

Elige was a retired bus driver for the Morgan County Board of Education and Elliott County Board of Education. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Beartown Church of God.

A hardworking man, Elige found much of his happiness in the simple things of life. He loved farming, raising cattle, and working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elige leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Elijah Waggoner, Brother Justin Waggoner, and Brother Charles Ray Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery on Stark Ridge in Elliott County.

Pallbearers: Joseph Randolph, Harley Randolph, Riven Hackney, Harold Crum, Adam Randolph, and Zachary Walker.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
