Obituary

Elbert Ray Mabry, age 80, of Green Valley, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at his residence. He was born October 21, 1929, in Elliott County, Kentucky, son of the late Robert Lee and Sarah Catron Mabry. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Curt Mabry, and one sister, Clara Royse. Elbert is survived by his wife, Sue Crager Mabry, whom he married September 21, 1962; one daughter, Lisa Rai Mabry-Price and husband Tony of Leesburg, Virginia; and one granddaughter, Lauren Price. Other survivors include one brother, Arthur Mabry of Hillsboro, Kentucky; one sister, Thelma Justice of Logan, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mabry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Cowden Manufacturing Company after 43 years of service. He was an outdoorsman and avid hunter. Elbert loved nature, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Lauren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Allan Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Price, Cleo Sloan, Jeff Mabry, Roy Justice, Eugene Hamm, and Lanny Faulkner. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Thursday, April 29, 2010, 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral: Friday, April 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. Interment: Brown Cemetery
