Elaine Marie Burke Long, age 78, of Sharon Drive, Clearfield, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019, at her residence. She was born May 24, 1940, in Morgan City, Louisiana, and was the daughter of the late Edwin and Eunice Dugas Burke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson "R. J." Long, who passed away July 4, 1985. Mrs. Long is survived by two sons, Norman Long of Clearfield and Steve Long of Middleburg, Florida; one daughter, Gwen Long of Lexington; one brother, Ivan Burke of New Iberia, Louisiana; and four grandchildren, Rob Long, Ronni Lynn Long-Meehan, Parker Debellefeuille, and Andrew Long. Elaine was a seamstress, homemaker, and loving mother. She was a member of Morehead Christway Church of God and enjoyed painting, sewing, and writing songs. Elaine had a love for cats and would often adopt. A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Morehead ChristWay with Bishop Grey Guy officiating and 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Emlyn Church of God with Pastor Harold Long officiating.
