Edra Jane "Janie" Greenhill Hargett, age 72, of Hargett Drive, Olive Hill, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Born April 14, 1951, in Ashland, Kentucky, Janie was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred Womack Greenhill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold "Kernsie" Greenhill.

Janie is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Earnie Lee Hargett; one son, Anthony Hargett and his wife Leona; and one daughter, Dr. Janet Fultz and husband Scott, all of Olive Hill.

Others to cherish her memory include a special cousin, Patricia Bryant of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and special friend, Kay Oney; extended family, including her church family, and many friends.

Janie graduated from Olive Hill High School, obtained an office assistant certificate from a vocational school in Ohio, and completed several college classes. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at a sewing factory in Olive Hill, was a teacher's aide in the Carter County School System and was a long-time secretary at Morehead State University in several departments including the Department of Public Safety.  She enjoyed shopping, dining out, and socializing with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed listening to "oldie music" and reading.  Janie was a Christian and a faithful member of the Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, at Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church (2622 State Hwy. 20, Olive Hill, KY 41164) with Pastor J. C. Bond officiating.  Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Anthony Hargett, Scott Fultz, Alex Oney, Nick Oney, Billy Henderson, and Shannon Harr.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
