Obituary

Edith Lou (Kegley) Tipton, 78, of Morehead, formerly of West Alexandria, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord March 19, 2014. Edith 'Edie' was born in Morehead on Jan. 13, 1936, to Della (Crose) Kegley and Noah Kegley. She married Earl Tipton on May 11, 1955, after his time spent serving in the U.S Army. They were married for almost 59 years and lived a life full of love and precious moments spent raising their three children and creating music together, recording and traveling with their family Southern Gospel group, 'The Kegley Sisters.' Edith passed away in their home surrounded by loved ones after a battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Sue Tipton Duncan of Lewisburg, Ohio, and sisters, Verna, Eula and Hester. She is survived by her husband, Earl; daughter, Wanda Tipton (Randall) Kuck of West Milton, Ohio; son, Scott (Ronda) Tipton of Somerset; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Carl, Mary Rose, Bobby and Donnie. Edith was an amazing woman whose joy in life was to bless and encourage others, friends, family and strangers alike. Her love and passion in life was being with her family, attending church and praying with and for others. She was a light on this earth and will be greatly missed by her family, as well as many friends from both Kentucky and Ohio. Services will begin at noon Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at The Living Word Church, 926 E. National Road, Vandalia, Ohio, with Pastor Dr. Pat Murray presiding. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 11 a.m. to noon at the church. Arrangements are by Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center, West Alexandria. Local arrangements by Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
