Edith Edna Dillon Trent, age 90, of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehab. Center in Owingsville, Kentucky. She was born September 19, 1919, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late George Dillon and Rosa Hess Dillon. Her husband, Sherman Trent, preceded her in death on August 31, 1991, and an infant daughter, Carol Bernice Trent, in 1955. Also preceding her in death were 13 brothers and sisters: Joe Kidd, Floyd, Tennessee, and America Stiltner; Holly, Leslie, and Lula Dillon; Bertha, Thomas, Jewel, Letha, Albert, and Emil Dillon. Mrs. Trent is survived by two sons: Lee Roy Trent and wife Lucille of Morehead, Kentucky, and Leonard Trent of Clearfield, Kentucky, and one daughter: Louise Mynhier Richmond of Kissimmee, Florida. Other survivors include seven grandchildren: Danita Hansen and husband Jerry, Kim Beamon and husband Bernie, Tonya Trent Potter and husband Mike, Monica Dierrickx and husband Joe, Lynetta Barnett, Shawn Mynhier and wife Selena, and Eric Mynhier and wife April; 16 great grandchildren: Derrick, Spencer, Gabrielle, Luke, Cameron IV, Preston, Rionne, Victoria, Jeremiah, Zack, Logan, Ashton, Dawson, Lily, Braden, Isabella; one great-great granddaughter: Alexis; and one great-great grandson: Braden. Edith was a lifelong homemaker and gardener and a member of the New Home Christian Church. She loved cooking, canning, and preserving food. Most of all, she loved the word of God, quoted it often and exercised her faith in prayer. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Crix Cemetery. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
