Edith Catherine Thomas Chadwell, age 83, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away Friday, January 25, 2008, at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan. She was born June 16, 1924, in Morehead, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late James Rubin and Sybrina Sparks Thomas. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde N. Chadwell on June 27, 2007; two brothers, John Carl Thomas and Claudie B. Thomas. She is survived by a daughter, Paulette Johnson of White Lake, Michigan; and a son Dannie Chadwell of Westland, Michigan; three brothers, James C. Thomas and Clyde A. Thomas both of Morehead, Kentucky; and Clayton Thomas of Sacramento, California; seven sisters, Emma Lee Smith of Lake Orion, Michigan; Ruby Elam, Vinda Moore, Mary Jane Kidd, and Bonnie Wood all of Morehead, Kentucky; Madge Elliott and Sue Hardin both of Clearfield, Kentucky; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Chadwell was a homemaker. A devoted Christian, she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Community Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H.G. Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Gary W. Thomas, John Thomas, Jay Day, Clyde Thomas Jr., Paul Kidd, and Robert J. Thomas.
