Edgar Bowman, age 96, of Owens Road North, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Edgewood Estates in Frenchburg, Kentucky. Born January 15, 1915, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charlie and Laura Mynhier Bowman. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Altie -Red- Bowman, William -Bill- Bowman, and Lilburn Bowman; six sisters, Eula Johnston, Ada Baldridge, Nellie Walters, Corda Baldridge, Betty Baldridge Bowman, and Lydia Wallace; and two sons, Harold Bowman and Bobby Bowman. His wife of 70 years, Grace Riddle Bowman, whom he married August 17, 1934, passed away January 7, 2005. Edgar is survived by one son and his wife, Billy Joe and Charlotte Bowman of Clearfield, Kentucky; two daughters and their husbands, Phyllis and Bill Thompson of Wallingford, Kentucky, and Suzette and R. C. Snipes of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Raymond Bowman of Clearfield, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Edgar was a truck driver for Lee Clay Products Company for 30 years and retired from Homer Gregory Lumber Company. He attended the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowman Cemetery. Pallbearers: Mike Bowman, Isaac Bowman, Dustin Adams, Gary Thomas, Chuck Adams, and Steve Bonney. Honorary Pallbearers: Mitch Collins, Richard Gamble, and Joseph Littleton, Jr. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
