Edgar Ernie
Bond
Jan 12, 1938 — Nov 10, 2015
Mr. Edgar Ernie Bond, 77 years of age, born January 12, 1938, in Carter County, left this world on November 10, 2015. He passed peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Lula Griffith Bond of Olive Hill; his only sister, Charlotte Edison of Elyria, Ohio; a brother, Dalton Bond of Olive Hill; and a brother, Paul Jean Bond of Mansfield, Ohio. Ernie had many adventures throughout his life and would tell countless entertaining and true stories which usually had a moral or lesson attached but which occasionally were simply tales of the mischief of 'little boys.' He was a heavy equipment operator by trade and worked long and hard hours to provide for his family. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding horses. However, his greatest joy and happiness was found in the time he spent with his wife, his children and his grandchildren. Ernie is survived by his wife, Vivian Dean Bond of Olive Hill, whom he wed December 22, 1996; two daughters, Dianne (Bondi) Dyer of Vanceburg, and Dana (Allen) Burton of Grayson; and a son, Rick (Patricia) Bond of Olive Hill; step-sons Eddie (Julie) Reynolds, AJ (Shasta) Reynolds, and Kyle Reynolds all of Olive Hill; granddaughters, Karley Kiser, Kaitlin and Emily Dyer, Casey Wolfe, Nikki and Allie Bond, Keyera, Raley and Addie Reynolds, and Aubrey Johnson, as well as 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, David (Diana) Bond of Grayson; Kenneth Bond of Olive Hill; and Dwayne Bond of Olive Hill; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Bond of Mansfield, OH, and a special family friend, Lacy Bloomfield. He is also blessed with a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. A celebration of a life well-lived will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead with Brother J. C. Bond presiding. A memory box will be provided to allow friends and family to share a special thought or memory of Ernie. Visitation: Thursday, November 12, 2015, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Funeral: Friday, November 13, 2015, 1 p.m., Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel
