Eddie Thomas, age 80, of US Highway 60 East, Morehead, was born May 24, 1941, in Rowan County, and passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patty J. Hall Thomas, whom he wed June 21, 1961; one daughter, Jackie Thomas Brewer and husband Dwayne of Lexington; two sisters, Kathy Thomas Knipp of Morehead and Myra Kay Thomas Day of Lexington; a very special family that is considered Eddie's family, David, Amy, Tabor, and Taylor Ray Zimmerman; one granddaughter, Carly Thomas Buchanan and husband Leon; one great granddaughter, Raegan; three nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends.

Eddie was preceded in death by his only son, Eddie Ray Thomas, Jr. on January 21, 2010, and his grandparents, Willie Frank and Parthena Tussy Thomas, who raised him.

A well-known businessman, Eddie was a former employee of the Ford Garage, State Highway Department, and W. C. Filson & Son Case Tractor.  In 1979, he established Eddie's Ashland and later transitioned to Eddie's Shell and Service Center, which he currently owned and operated.  He enjoyed raising cattle, farming, and fishing.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joe Cline and Pastor Tim Rhodes officiating and Ronnie Caudill providing the eulogy.  Entombment will follow at Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Tim Beamon, Ronnie Caudill, Gary Thomas, Jr., Newt Robinson, Scott Ferrell, David Zimmerman.  Honorary pallbearers:  Dale Davis, Dwayne Brewer, Larry Knipp

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funeral, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351
