Obituary

Ed Hiler, age 102, of McCormick Road, formerly of Tapp Lane, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at his residence. He was born October 24, 1907, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, son of the late Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Prewitt Hiler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Clem Hiler; four brothers; three sisters; and six grandchildren. He is survived by five sons: Jerry M. Hiler and wife Jane, and Forrest Hiler and wife Sharon, all of Lexington, Kentucky, Russell Hiler and wife Dee, Eugene Hiler and wife Zora, and Ted Hiler and wife Mary, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and six daughters: Virgie Walters and husband Bynam, Glenna Hawkins and husband Clayton, Norean Hatton and husband Jay, and Sherlene Wooten and husband Kelly, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Florine Cole and Grace Rankin and husband Jim, all of Lexington, Kentucky. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. Mr. Hiler was a retired farmer and member of the Hope First Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Camargo First Church of God with Brother Stanley Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Shane Kiser, Lanny Walters, Jerry Dale Martin, Mickey Hawkins, Teddy Hiler, Tike Rankin, Robin Rankin, Ricky Rankin, Forrest Manley, and Danny Hiler. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010, at the Camargo First Church of God, 1051 Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation: Thursday, June 10, 2010, 6-9 pm, Camargo First Church of God Funeral: Friday, June 11, 2010, 1 pm, Camargo First Church of God Interment: Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky
