Eckron T. Kegley, 88, Marion, passed away peacefully at home at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, and received his eternal reward. He was born in Morehead, Kentucky, on Monday, October 1, 1934, to Thomas Kegley and Rebecca (Wagner) Kegley Cox.
Eckron worked at General Motors in Marion, where he was a forklift driver for 30 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and running trot lines. He was a Christian and a proud deacon for many years. He enjoyed reading his Bible daily, gardening, reading Westerns, traveling back home to Kentucky, and playing with his grandkids.
Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Kegley of Marion, Indiana, Neena (Mark) Cusick of Illinois, and Rebecca (John) Collier of Marion, Indiana; sons, Thomas Kegley of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Timothy (Emma) Kegley of Marion, Indiana; grandsons, Mark (Chandra) Volmer, Justin Cusick, Tim Ray Kegley II, and Thomas Everett Kegley II; granddaughters, Eshanne (Josh) Brooks, Crystal Volmer, Cheyenne (Robert) Conde, Katerina Collier, Alexis Kegley, Tashina Collier, Tashielie Harpham, Tina Kegley, Shakira Collier, and Rebecca Fansler; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Michael Poling, and sisters, Aurola "Rodi" Kegley Jackson, Corrine Kegley, and Buna Kegley Sprague.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
On Friday, June 23, 2023, a funeral service to celebrate Eckron's life will be held at North Chapel at 11:30 am with Pastor Dan Van Cise officiating. Burial will take place at 3:00 pm on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Brown Cemetery in Morehead, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Cancer Services of Grant County, Tower Suites, 305 S. Norton Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
