Earnest Markwell, age 75, of Bullfork Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at his residence. Born July 26, 1939, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Emmitt Denver Markwell, and Frances Curtis Markwell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Markwell. Earnie is survived by his brother, Carlos Markwell of Morehead; one uncle, Joe Curtis of Morehead ; many cousins and friends; and longtime caregiver, Clela Markwell, widow of Ivan Markwell, of Morehead. Earnie and Carlos were good mechanics who enjoyed repairing all types of equipment. They also loved taking care of their cats and all kinds of wildlife. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jared DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in the Markwell Cemetery. Pallbearers: Rufus Williams, Orville Little, Joe Carter, Herbert Hyatt, Travis Knipp, and Jimmy Knipp. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
