Earl Lyne
Tata Scott
Jun 25, 1913 — Nov 30, 2013
Earl Lyne 'TaTa' Scott died November 30, 2013 in Morehead, KY after 100 richly lived years, full of family, friends, work, service and fishing. He was born in Frankfort, KY on June 25, 1913 to Frank P. and Stella C. Scott. His wife of 55 years, Anne Ford Scott, and his two brothers, Frank Ewell Scott and Charles Leonard Scott, preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Ewell (Sandra) Scott and Edward (Ann) Scott and a daughter, Lucy Anne (Bob) Pryor all of Morehead, KY; nine grandchildren, Nycole Skinner, Andrew Scott, Adam Scott, Jennifer Scott Gebhart, Gregory Scott, Brian Scott, Scott Pryor, Emily Pryor, Mark Pryor; and many great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. For over 40 years 'Scotty,' as his customers knew him, owned and operated a full service gas station on the corner of Second and Conway streets in Frankfort. He was an active community leader, serving as a member and then chairman of the Frankfort Independent School Board, a deacon at South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Frankfort Kiwanis Club. TaTa retired to his beloved Big Eddy where family and friends were always welcome. He was an avid bridge player, fisherman, and sports enthusiast. He continued these activities and interests until his death. He also enjoyed time in the kitchen; his homemade pecan pies and pimento cheese became legendary. A graveside service and celebration of his life will occur at a later date. Instead of flowers, his family suggests a donation to one's charity of choice, or to the Remembrance Trust Fund at the South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, 224 Steele Street, Frankfort, KY 40601, or to Camp Hanover, 3163 Parsleys Mill Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
