Dovie Basford Plank, age 68, of Goddard Road, Wallingford, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Born January 15, 1939, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John and Iva Braggs Basford. Her husband, Homer Lee Plank, preceded her in death on December 11, 2000. She is survived by four sons, Anthony Plank of Frenchburg, Kentucky, Mark Plank of Wallingford, Kentucky, Jeff Plank of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Tim Plank of Byron, Georgia; one brother, Jack Basford of Wallingford, Kentucky; two sisters, Lela Purvis and Gus Purvis, both of Sharpsburg, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Plank was a homemaker and former employee of A. O. Smith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Brooks Karrick and Brother Roy Stacy officiating; burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Kentucky. In addition to her four sons, Billy Plank, Joseph Plank, and Jonathan Plank will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
