Dorthy Louise Ferguson Gearhart, age 73, of Rawcel Heights, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born November 24, 1936, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Powell R. and Thelma Williams Ferguson. Her husband of 57 years, Emmitt Franklin -Jack- Gearhart, whom she married July 1, 1953, passed away August 19, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brother Herbert R. Ferguson on August 25, 2007. Dorthy is survived by one son, Eddie Powell Gearhart of Morehead, Kentucky; two daughters, Debra Russell and husband Byrl of Morehead, Kentucky, and Donna Christian of Morehead, Kentucky; four grandchildren, James and Michael Christian and Wade and Lisa Clevenger; four great grandchildren, Dylan and Daniel Clevenger, Aaron Christian and Kylee Evans; and two sisters, Bertha Mae Gearhart of Morehead, Kentucky, and Nellie Butler of Alabama. Mrs. Gearheart was a homemaker and former employee of Cowden Manufacturing. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and was a member of Hayes Branch Community Church. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2010 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Phillip Fraley and Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will be in the Gearhart Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be James Christian, Michael Christian, Wade Clevenger, Huey Evans, Dylan Clevenger, and Daniel Clevenger. Visitation will from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
