Obituary

Dorthy Marie Bowling Williams, age 71, of Green Bend Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born March 5, 1942, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Noah and Lillian Fultz Bowling. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Ray Staton, and two brothers, Jackie and Danny Bowling. Dottie is survived by her companion of 49 years, Herman Staton, Jr.; five daughters Lillian Jones and Dean of Morehead, Clara Knipp and Jimmy of Morehead, Mary Hamm and John of Fleming County, Debbie Hamm of South Carolina, and Penny Porter of Olive Hill; two grandchildren she raised, Billy Hamm and James Markwell; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by seven brothers, Bill Bowling of Olive Hill, Jimmy Bowling, Curty Bowling, Jerry Bowling, Kenny Bowling, Ray Bowling, and Johnny Bowling, all of Morehead; four sisters, Joyce Blew of North Carolina, Betty Adkins of Dayton, Ohio, Mary Murphy and Kay Keeton of Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Dottie was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, her farm animals, and shopping. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jim and Mikie Knipp; Jessie, Zack and John Hamm; and James Markwell. Honorary pallbearers: Billy and Caleb Hamm and Travis Knipp Visitation is after 6 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Sunday, January 12, 2014, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Monday, January 13, 2014, at 1 p.m. Interment: Brown Cemetery
