Dorsey Ray Hardin, Jr., age 72, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011, at his residence. He was born March 31, 1939, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Dorsie Ray Hardin, Sr., and Zona Taylor McKenzie Hardin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Philemon Hardin, Melvin -Frosty- Hardin, and Wilbur Hardin. His wife, Jacqueline -Jackie- Powell Hardin, preceded him in death on May 15, 1990. Dorsey is survived by two sons, Dean Jackson Hardin and wife Jennifer of Lexington, Kentucky, and Mickey Hardin of Ashland, Kentucky, and two granddaughters, Gretchen Hardin and Isabella Hardin. Other survivors include one brother, Don Hardin and wife Patricia of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Margena Hardin and Violet Hardin, both of Morehead, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. A graduate of the Kentucky Barber School in Louisville, Kentucky, Dorsey was a self-employed barber at Frosty-s Barber Shop for 50 years. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed -arguing- sports. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H. G. Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Larry Hardin, Phillip Hardin, Wes Hardin, Casey Hardin, Jeff Hardin, and Steve Crail. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Sunday, December 18, 2011, 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Funeral: Monday, December 19, 2011, 11 a.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
