Obituary

Dorothy Mae Hill Messer, age 92, of White Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. She was born November 28, 1916, in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Leroy and Dorothy Jonas Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Brady Rose. Her husband, Joseph -Joe- Messer, passed away on July 11, 1978. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret May Withrow and Peggy Maze, both of Morehead, Kentucky, and Mary Lou Omohundro of Louisville, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are two brothers, Leroy Hill and wife Minnie and George Hill and wife Jean all of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Mary Day of Morehead, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a sales clerk at the Western Auto for over 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Morehead First Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H. G. Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Saturday, February 14, 2009, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Sunday, February 15, 2009, at 1 p.m. Interment: Lee Cemetery
