Dorothy Ramey Johnson Jones, age 93, of Greenbend Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at UK- St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born February 2, 1932, in Shilo, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Clarence Taylor Ramey and Maggie Morris Ramey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Vercil E. Jones on August 23, 2011; one son, Robert Bryan Johnson; three brothers, Charles, Johnny, and Robert Ramey; two sisters, Tressie Kelly and Betty Sweet; and two grandsons, Matthew Johnson and Phillip Johnson.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Charles A. Johnson and David Lee Johnson (Debbie), all of Farmers; seven grandchildren, David L. Johnson, Jr., David Dale, Chase Johnson, Dorothy Michelle Johnson, Kelly Crow, Samantha Yates, and Tracy Persinger; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was a former cook at Hardee's and Farmers Restaurant and operated the Bargain Barn. She was a member of the Bluebank First Church of God. Dorothy enjoyed attending church, working in her flowers, and spending time with family. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

At her request, there will be no public visitation or service.

Private graveside services will be held at New Alfrey Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.
