Dorothy Gilvin Dale, age 95, of Rogers Mill Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at the Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Owingsville, Kentucky. Born March 22, 1916, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Gilvin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold -Hack- Dale; one son, Bobby Morris Dale; one grandson, Tony Lee Dale; one brother, Elmer Gilvin; and two sisters, Christine Dale and Beulah Shaw. Mrs. Dale is survived by her daughter-in-law, Loretta Jean Dale of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Robert Arnold (Lisa) Dale of Thermopolis, Wyoming, and Pamela Dale Brooks of Tennessee; and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Dale was a homemaker and enjoyed working on her farm. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Paris, Kentucky, and attended Spring Street Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, with Pastor John Runyon officiating. Pallbearers: Billy Dale, Bill Johnson, Jim Preece, Melvin Stewart, Charles Bartley, Randy Bartley, Bruce McCarty and Floyd Arnold. Honorary Pallbearers: Wilburn Dale, Vernon Gibbs, Bill Rogers, Ray Oney, Susan Arnold, and Betty Conkwright. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
