Mrs. Doris J. (Yencer) Lawhorn, daughter of Harry and Myrtle (Weaver) Yencer, of Morehead KY, at age 87 passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born June 25, 1925, in Columbus OH. She married John R. Lawhorn in October 1945.They celebrated 44 years of marriage. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Doris traveled the world and saw many great wonders that most dream of seeing. She enjoyed bowling and dancing, especially square dancing with her friends at Friendly Ties. Doris was a member of The Golden Moose at The Moose Lodge #1245. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and by her loving husband, John R. Lawhorn. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Thompson, of Morehead; grandson John (Brooke) Thompson, Jr.; two great granddaughters Jenna Thompson and Madison Thompson; granddaughter Pamela (Jason) Thompson Fenner; twin great grandchildren, Alexander and Atalaya Fenner. She will be greatly missed by her many loving family and friends. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, at the St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, OH 43137-9207. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Doris's memory to The American Cancer Society.
