Donnie Riley, Sr., age 81, of Bull Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Life Care Center in Morehead surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 15, 1944, in Carter County, the son of the late William Riley and Zola Fultz Riley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nelma Hanes Riley, whom he married January 3, 1964, and passed on January 4, 2025; four brothers, Clifford, Larry, Carl, and Gary Riley, and one sister, Clista Adkins.
Donnie is survived by one son, Donnie Riley, Jr. (Marty) of Carter County; four daughters, Bonnie Gibbs (Michael) of Garrison, Nancy Clem of Morehead, Melissa Riley (Barron) of Jeffersonville, and Cindy Riley of Jeffersonville; eight grandchildren, Cody Centers, Jonathan Ramey, Kelly Burnham (Gerald), Sandy O'Boyle (Edward), Mahala Riley (Jim), Michael Jarrod Gibbs (Xiaotang), Jennifer Little (Josh), Zachary Riley (Jessica); and five great-grandchildren, Jazmine Allen, Timothy Allen, Annalei Allen, Benjamin O'Boyle, and Kennedy Burnham.
He is also survived by two brothers, Oscar Riley (Pat) and Allen Riley, both of Morehead; several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.
Donnie was a retired truck driver for Harold White Lumber. He enjoyed woodworking and researching genealogy. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Joe Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Fultz Cemetery in Carter County.
Pallbearers will be Cody Centers, Jonathan Ramey, Mike Gibbs, Gerald Burnham, Barron Centers, and Aiden Holland.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 403531
