Donnie Ray Helterbrand, age 62, of Buckner Branch, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Norton-Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born June 21, 1950, on Elk Lick Road in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Mitchell and Vina Plank Helterbrand. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harrison Johnson, and one sister, Betty McCleese. Donnie is survived by his wife, Karen Elaine Childress Helterbrand, whom he married August 10, 1995; two stepsons, Brian Webb and wife Stephanie of Ellerbe, North Carolina, and David Webb of Morehead, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Makayla Christen, Alyssa Jordan, and Tyler Blayne. He is also survived by four brothers, Arthur Brooks Hamilton, George Helterbrand, Howard Helterbrand, and Milton Helterbrand, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Sandie French of Louisville, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Donnie served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a former employee of Sealmaster. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Cephas Littleton officiating. Burial will follow in Adams-Plank Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be Dale Plank, Gary Thomas, Glendon Lowe, Todd Gulley, Tom Gulley, and Stewart Ferrell. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Monday, August 13, 2012, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment: Adams-Plank Cemetery
