Donita Kay Jones, 50, formerly of Morehead, passed away in her Lexington home after a brief illness on April 23, 2021.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Donna Law Basford of Morehead and Jackie Ray Basford of Flemingsburg.

Donita is survived by three children, Matthew Jones (Megan Cerna) of Morehead, Taylor Emmons and Tyler Emmons, both of Ringos Mill; three siblings, Paul Basford (Sandra) and Gary Basford, all of Morehead, and Andrea Stegall (John Johnson) of Huntington, West Virginia; her step mom, Nancy Basford two half-sisters, Jacqueline Basford and Tracy Bussell, all of Flemingsburg; and one half-brother, Kevin Basford of Alexandria.

Donita just graduated college and planned to be a substance abuse counselor and was a former paramedic. She was an avid U. K. fan, loved her family dearly, and was proud of her sobriety.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Brown Cemetery with Brother Larry Law officiating.
