Donald R. Porter, age 79, of Clayton Lane, Morehead, passed away November 26, 2020, at Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stanton, KY.

Born February 6, 1941, in Elliott County, Donald was the seventh child of the late Nelson Porter and Opal DeHart Porter Fultz.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Dailey Porter; six brothers, Dr. Arvis Porter and Clyde Porter, both of Morehead, Arlie Porter and Nelson Porter, both of Brown Ridge, Elliott County, Armott Porter of Crestwood, and Oscar Porter of Grayson; and two sisters, Jolene Johnson of Brown Ridge, Elliott County, and Sara Skaggs of Flemingsburg.

He is survived by a sister, Lyda Skaggs (Kenny) of Sandy Hook; brother-in-law, L. C. Skaggs of Fleming County; two sisters-in-law, Betty Porter and Linda Porter, both of Morehead; a step-sister, Virginia Murphy ("Doc") of Grayson; several step-children; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Donald was known as hard working and dependable by his employers. He was of the Christian faith and said that anyone who didn't believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was a fool.  Donald's favorite pastimes were reading and talking to family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Donald's burial site in the family cemetery on Brown Ridge, Elliott County.  Also, a family celebration of life is being planned at the family's homeplace in Elliott County for Donald and other sibling that have preceded him in death.
