Donald Pennington, age 87, of Bull Fork Road, Morehead, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 23, 1937, in Elliott County, to the late Arthur and Elsie Harris Pennington.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Medford, Edgar, and Lowell Pennington, and one sister, Fostella Pennington Winkle. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maxine Pence Pennington, whom he married November 5, 1966; one daughter Debbie Price; one son, Donald Brian Pennington and wife Susan, all of Morehead; four grandchildren, Eric Price and wife Brinda, Tabitha Fraley and husband Brad, Nathan Pennington, and Aaron Pennington; and two great grandchildren, Owen and Cooper Stephens. Other survivors include two brothers, Denvil Pennington of Morehead and Vanzil Pennington of Guysville, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and many friends. Donald retired after more than 20 years of service as a bus driver for the Rowan County Board of Education, he worked many years on the pipeline as a heavy equipment operator, and was a life-long farmer. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Adam Cooper and Brother Jack Hinton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pence Cemetery on Bull Fork Road. Pallbearers:  Nathan Pennington, Aaron Pennington, Randy Pennington, Dewayne Pennington, Owen Stephens and Cooper Stephens. Honorary pallbearer: Eric Price.
