Donald Wayne Lewis, Jr., age 58, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born January 18, 1956, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Donald Wayne Lewis, Sr., of Vanceburg and the late Relna Lucille Jordan Lewis. Besides his beloved mother, he was preceded in death by a dear brother, Charles Christopher Lewis, and an infant sister, Janice Laverne Lewis. In addition to his father, he is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Lou) Donato, Joshua Powell, Samantha Lewis, Rosemary Zacharias, Jacob Griffith and Zachary Griffith, and ten grandchildren, Emily, Abigail, Clayton, Sarah, and Hannah Donato, Dustin Zacharias, Eleni and Waylan Powell, and Jeremiah and Trinity Griffith. Other survivors include three sisters, Brenda (Ronnie) Combs, Diana (Kevin) Holleran, and Alisa (Neal) Bailey; one brother, David (Lynn) Lewis; one sister-in-law, Patricia Lewis; and many nieces and nephews. Don had a kind and generous heart. As a member of Grace Fellowship of Lexington, Don loved sharing the gospel of Jesus. He was bold with his faith. He was passionate about praying for people, sharing encouraging words, and supporting his pastor. An avid hunter and gun enthusiast, Don enjoyed camping and fishing in the great outdoors. Don was a fantastic cook, often preparing family favorites from his mother's recipe books. Don loved to make people laugh, often playing pranks, writing funny stories and poems, and finding humor everywhere. He was devoted to his family and children and will be missed by many. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ron Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at Stone Cemetery on Scotts Branch in Lewis County. Pallbearers: Kevin Holleran, Neal Bailey, Ronnie Combs, Rob Fraser, Blake Ginn, and Omar Zuniga. Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Wednesday, February 5, 2014, noon until 2 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. Interment: Stone Cemetery, Scotts Branch, Lewis County
