Donald Edward "Don" Harris, age 87, of Georgia, formerly of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at his residence.

Don was born December 29, 1934, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Russell Harris and Anna Belle Hunt Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Myrtle J. Sihon; three brothers, Adrian Harris, David Harris, and Freddy Harris; and nephew, Richard Walker "Ricky" Harris.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Rose (Jackson) Smith; two grandsons, Bret (Aileen) Ward, Chase (Rachel) Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Margot Ward, all of Gainesville, Georgia.

Other survivors include one brother, Walker (Stella) Harris of Willis, Michigan; one sister, Jane Carol Tackett of Crossville, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; as well as great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

Don loved playing golf, bowling, and traveling. He was always joking around and loved to share his golf stories.

A special thanks to the staff at Oaks of Gracemont Assisted Living Facility. Don was very happy there and he loved all the staff.

Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at Brown Cemetery, 1845 US Hwy 60 West, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
