Donald E. "Don" Litton, age 85, of Litton Road, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12, 2023, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born February 7, 1938, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Lukie Woodrow Litton and Nada M. Roberts Litton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Kay Litton.
Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Ann Asher Litton; two sons, Donald Brett Litton (Misty) of Bath County and Rick Litton (Tish) of Morehead; seven grandchildren, Kristopher Litton, Erika Moore (Michael), Layla Litton, Adam McCarty (Erin), Thomas McCarty, Ivy Litton, and Hattie Litton; one great grandson, Waylon McCarty; and other extended family and friends.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and co-owner of Litton's Garden Mart for 47 years. Don was a Kentucky Colonel and 50-year member of Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654. He was a lifelong member of Johnson First Church of God and served as a board member for many years and held other leadership positions.
He was a classic Chevy enthusiast and enjoyed RC airplanes, Ham radios, watching his purple martins, reading, and U.K. basketball. Don's memory will be cherished, and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Johnson First Church of God with Pastor Ben Furman officiating. Masonic services will be presented by Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers: Joey White, Jim Tom Trent, Allen Styx Hicks, Mike Adams, Tommy Sluss, Jerry Stephens, Steve Bumgardner, and Mark Posten.
Honorary pallbearers: Jack Litton, Joe Litton, Joe White, Howard Fraley, Luther Adams, Mike Pennington, and David Nutter.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Johnson First Church of God, 590 Cranston Road, Morehead, KY 40351.
Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
