Dona Pernell Moore Stone, age 87, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Hillsdale Community Health Center in Hillsdale, Michigan. She was born November 22, 1923, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late William and Virgie Mays Pernell. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Caudill, Ida Pernell, and Lila Fultz; four brothers, Jesse, Frank, Jeff, and Robbie Pernell; three daughters, Clara Jolley, who passed away in 2002, and infant daughters, Thelma Jean and Kathleen Moore; and one son, Danny Moore. Her first husband, Arthur Moore, passed away in 1973; and her second husband, Carl W. Stone, in 1985. Mrs. Stone is survived by six sons, Roy Moore of Morehead, Kentucky, Edd Moore and wife Susie of Jonesville, Michigan, Herman Moore and wife Sally of Jonesville, Michigan, Michael Moore and wife Millie of Hillsdale, Michigan, Arnold Moore and wife Sue of Morehead, Kentucky, and Carl Moore of Morehead, Kentucky; four daughters, Reba Jewell Spangler and husband Thomas of Reading, Michigan, Geneva Krow of Morehead, Kentucky, Mary Hamby of Atlanta, Georgia, and Betty Youngs and husband Lynn of Hillsdale, Michigan; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stone was a homemaker who especially enjoyed gardening, making quilts, going to church, and helping the elderly. She was a member of the East End Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
