Obituary

Don Alton LeMaster, age 84, of KY 504, Olive Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at UK - St. Claire Hospital in Morehead. He was born April 4, 1940, in Lawton, Kentucky, a son of the late Elmer LeMaster and Dora McDaniel LeMaster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Charlett LeMaster and an infant brother, Von LeMaster. Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Maxie Gail Harris LeMaster, whom he married on April 11, 1962. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith. He is also survived by two daughters, Florenia Mabry and husband Jeff of Olive Hill and Melinda Cox and husband Kendall of Louisa; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Alton Mabry and wife Amy, Shawn M. Mabry and wife Paige, Samantha Mabry, Eric Cox, and Kendrea Cox; and six great-grandchildren, Addison, Raelynn, Harper, Holly, Holden, and Hattie. Additionally, Don is survived by two sisters, Zelma Vanbuskirk of Brooksville, Florida, and Barbara Sue Phillips of Morehead; one brother, Charles LeMaster of Elliottville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Don retired in 1989 from General Motors in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was of the Christian faith and loved attending church. He found great joy in coon hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and singing. Don's love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, with Brother Louie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Greener Pastures Cemetery at the Mabry Farm on Beartown Ridge. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Mabry, Shawn Mabry, Eric Cox, Tony Harris, Glen Vanbuskirk, and Abe Blevins. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
